RAFAEL ESTRADA

Born and raised in South San Diego, I attended local public schools. Coming from a working class family, both of my parents worked to provide the best for my siblings and me. They work two jobs each just to make ends meet, let alone be able to afford to pay for all of us to go to college. Like Many working class families, my parents made too much, but not enough for me to qualify for free federal financial aide assistance . I lieu of having the burden of Student loan Debt, After Graduating from high School, I enlisted in the US Air Force.

I am new to politics, but have been serving my community for many years. I have spent the last eight years working with schools in San Diego within the diverse communities of the 40th district to provide effective programs that support the arts, health, safety, and technology for students and the community.

I am a proud Father and coming from the working class, I understand the challenges facing working families today. I believe that together, we can create safer neighborhoods, a stronger Middle/working class and a financial security for our families.
